Dynamics 365 Business Central vs NetSuite ERP Connectorfor Shopify (2026)
Dynamics 365 Business Central and NetSuite ERP Connector both aim to provide Shopify merchants with ERP capabilities, but they differ significantly in their target audience, integration depth, and user satisfaction, at least based on limited available data. Dynamics 365 Business Central positions itself as a comprehensive solution for small to midsized companies, focusing on financial visibility, inventory optimization, and business insights, including AI-driven forecasting and automated ordering. It emphasizes control over costs and the ability to manage multiple Shopify shops and locations. In contrast, NetSuite ERP Connector centers on automated integration with the robust NetSuite ERP system, streamlining data synchronization of product, pricing, inventory, sales orders, and fulfillment information between NetSuite and Shopify. The key differentiator lies in the underlying ERP system. Dynamics 365 Business Central is a full-fledged ERP system, while NetSuite ERP Connector acts as a bridge to an existing NetSuite ERP instance. Therefore, NetSuite ERP Connector is designed for merchants already invested in NetSuite and seeking to integrate their Shopify storefront seamlessly. Dynamics 365 Business Central is designed for those who need a full ERP solution that can handle more than one Shopify store. The user satisfaction ratings also suggest a disparity in user experience. Dynamics 365 Business Central's rating is lower at 2.8/5 with 14 reviews compared to NetSuite ERP Connector's 4.2/5 with 7 reviews. This implies potential challenges in ease of use, setup, or overall value derived from the Dynamics 365 Business Central connector. However, the review counts are small, making firm conclusions difficult.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants already deeply invested in the NetSuite ecosystem, the NetSuite ERP Connector is the clear choice. It promises a seamless and automated data flow, eliminating manual data entry and ensuring data consistency. However, for businesses seeking a complete ERP solution and not already committed to NetSuite, Dynamics 365 Business Central might seem appealing. However, the lower rating suggests caution. Businesses should thoroughly investigate user reviews and consider a trial period to ensure the integration meets their needs. Ultimately, the choice depends heavily on whether the merchant already leverages NetSuite ERP. If not, other ERP solutions with more robust Shopify integrations and positive user feedback may be preferable.
Common Questions
Which app is better for merchants with multiple Shopify stores?
Dynamics 365 Business Central explicitly supports multiple Shopify shops, sales channels, and locations. NetSuite ERP Connector doesn't directly mention this feature in its description, but it's possible it supports multiple storefronts, especially for Shopify Plus users. Further investigation is needed.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the ratings, NetSuite ERP Connector appears to have a smoother user experience. The higher rating suggests easier setup and usability. However, the relatively low number of reviews for both apps means this conclusion is not definitive.
Which app offers more advanced inventory management features?
Both apps offer strong inventory management features. Dynamics 365 Business Central boasts optimizing inventory across purchasing, manufacturing, inventory and warehouses. NetSuite ERP Connector provides accurate inventory tracking and management across multiple warehouse locations. The best choice depends on the specific complexity of the business's inventory needs.
If I don't already use an ERP, which app should I choose?
If you don't use an ERP system, NetSuite ERP Connector is not suitable as it requires an existing NetSuite ERP subscription. Dynamics 365 Business Central provides the full ERP system, but due to the negative rating it would be more prudent to explore other dedicated ERP systems for Shopify that have better ratings and more features.
Which app is better for automating accounting tasks?
NetSuite ERP Connector specifically highlights simplifying accounting tasks, such as recording transactions and managing AP/AR. Dynamics 365 Business Central mentions financial visibility, tax calculation, and reporting, but the description of NetSuite implies a closer link between accounting and the Shopify integration.
