Earthr App vs Impact By Salefor Shopify (2026)
Earthr App and Impact By Sale both aim to integrate sustainability into Shopify stores through donations, but they approach it from different angles. Earthr focuses on a simple, customer-initiated round-up feature, allowing shoppers to contribute small amounts to environmental initiatives during checkout. Its positioning emphasizes accessibility and ease of use. Impact By Sale, on the other hand, offers a more comprehensive and automated approach, enabling merchants to directly tie sales to specific environmental actions like planting trees or removing ocean plastic. It caters to merchants seeking to make a guaranteed and measurable impact, and leverages storytelling and transparency to engage customers and build trust. One major difference lies in the control and commitment level. Earthr provides a softer, customer-driven donation option, while Impact By Sale requires merchants to actively allocate a portion of their sales or offer add-ons to fund pre-vetted projects. The impact measurement is also key: Impact By Sale promises tangible, measurable results showcased via an 'Impact Ticker', whereas Earthr’s impact is not explicitly defined beyond supporting 'climate initiatives'. Finally, one app has zero ratings while the other has a perfect score, despite both claiming to make a positive impact.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking a low-commitment, customer-driven donation option, Earthr App *could* be considered. However, the lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating is a significant red flag. For merchants serious about demonstrating concrete and measurable environmental impact tied directly to their sales, Impact By Sale is the stronger choice, offering greater transparency, automation, and demonstrable results. Its perfect rating, albeit based on only five reviews, suggests positive user experiences and fulfills a need for rigorous impact measurement.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's budget, level of commitment, and desired level of transparency. Those who want a basic, easy-to-install app that allows customers to opt-in with small donations *might* consider Earthr. Merchants ready to invest more and actively showcase their impact would find more value and credibility with Impact By Sale. However, the current review score disparity makes Impact By Sale the objectively better app.
