Easy Cookie Bar GDPR vs Scala GDPR EU Cookie Bannerfor Shopify (2026)
Easy Cookie Bar GDPR and Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner both aim to help Shopify merchants comply with cookie consent regulations like GDPR. However, they differ significantly in their current user reception and stated functionality. Easy Cookie Bar GDPR, despite a seemingly comprehensive feature set including cookie consent management and seamless Shopify integration, lacks any user reviews or ratings. Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner, on the other hand, boasts a perfect 5/5 rating with 6 reviews, emphasizing ease of configuration and non-intrusive operation within the theme editor. Scala also highlights the important fact that it is the responsibility of the merchant to block the website cookies for users who have not provided consent. Easy Cookie Bar GDPR seems to be positioning itself as a full-fledged, all-in-one GDPR compliance solution specifically focused on EU regulations. Its listed features suggest a more hands-on approach to customization and management. In contrast, Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner focuses on simplicity and speed, aiming for quick deployment with minimal interference with the store's existing theme. It’s a more straightforward solution that emphasizes ease of use for merchants, especially those prioritizing quick setup with less technical complexity. However, Scala's disclaimer about cookie blocking responsibility is critical to consider. Given the lack of reviews on Easy Cookie Bar GDPR, it's difficult to asses how well that app manages cookie blocking.

Our Verdict
Based on the available data, Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner is the safer bet for most Shopify merchants in 2026, particularly those who value a quick and easy setup with a proven track record reflected in its perfect rating. The key, however, is understanding that Scala only provides the banner and the merchant is responsible for blocking website cookies, which could require technical expertise. Easy Cookie Bar GDPR, while promising more comprehensive features, is a riskier choice due to the complete absence of user feedback.
If a merchant is seeking a solution that *potentially* offers broader cookie management functionality and a willingness to experiment, Easy Cookie Bar GDPR might be worth considering, but only after thoroughly testing and verifying its features. Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner is better suited for merchants who prioritize a quickly deployable and user-friendly cookie consent banner solution, and are willing to manage the backend cookie blocking themselves or source the service from another solution.
