Easy Custom CSS and Essential Trust Badges & Icons, while both falling under the 'Design elements' category in the Shopify app store, cater to fundamentally different needs and target audiences. Easy Custom CSS aims to empower merchants with basic CSS knowledge to directly customize their store's visual appearance without delving into the theme's backend code. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking granular control over their store's visual appearance and possessing at least basic CSS knowledge, Easy Custom CSS *could* be an option. However, the extremely low rating and minimal review count should raise serious concerns. Thoroughly investigate the app and consider alternatives before committing. Given the available information, the app seems risky.
Essential Trust Badges & Icons presents a far more compelling choice for most merchants. Its high rating and substantial number of positive reviews suggest a well-received app that effectively addresses the need for building customer trust and driving sales. Any store, but especially new stores and stores with high-value products, can benefit from the trust-building features that Essential Trust Badges & Icons provide. Unless you have a very specific CSS customization need and are willing to risk a poor experience, Essential Trust Badges & Icons is the superior choice.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?

Which app is more effective for increasing sales?
Essential Trust Badges & Icons is specifically designed to increase sales by building trust and highlighting key features and guarantees. Easy Custom CSS, while impacting aesthetics, doesn't directly address trust or sales drivers unless design changes specifically target those aspects.
What kind of merchant benefits most from Easy Custom CSS?
Merchants who are comfortable with CSS and require precise control over their store's appearance, especially for tweaks not easily achievable through theme settings, might find Easy Custom CSS useful, despite the risks suggested by the reviews. This assumes they can troubleshoot the app themselves.

What are the key benefits of using trust badges and icons?
Trust badges and icons can significantly improve a store's credibility by reassuring customers about security, payment options, return policies, and guarantees. This can lead to increased confidence, reduced cart abandonment, and higher conversion rates.
