Easy Product Image Overlays vs Image Compressfor Shopify (2026)
Easy Product Image Overlays and Image Compress both fall under the 'Image editor' category on Shopify, but cater to distinct needs. Easy Product Image Overlays focuses on visual merchandising, allowing merchants to enhance product images with overlays and call-outs to highlight deals or best-selling items without altering the original image. This is particularly useful for maintaining consistent product feeds while attracting customer attention on the storefront. The app emphasizes mobile optimization and ease of use for adding visual enhancements. Image Compress, on the other hand, isn't described, but it is implied that it focuses on optimizing image size, improving website loading speed and overall site performance by compressing images. While both apps have relatively few reviews (9 and 8 respectively), Image Compress boasts a perfect 5/5 rating compared to Easy Product Image Overlays' 4.7/5. It's crucial to consider that the low review count makes these ratings susceptible to change as more users provide feedback. The key difference lies in the value proposition: Easy Product Image Overlays offers features for visual merchandising and marketing, while Image Compress aims to improve site performance through image optimization. Therefore, choosing between them depends on the merchant's primary need: enhanced product presentation or improved website speed.
