Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing on-site promotions and visual appeal without modifying their original product images, Easy Product Image Overlays is likely the better choice. Its focus on adding overlays makes it suitable for creating visually engaging marketing messages directly on product images. However, for merchants deeply concerned about site speed and SEO performance, SEO Speed Image Optimizer is the clear winner. Its focus on image resizing, compression, and alt text optimization directly addresses these concerns. Given the significantly larger number of reviews and focus on core SEO principles, SEO Speed Image Optimizer is generally the stronger recommendation, especially given the importance of site speed in 2026.
