Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on adding more languages to their store without deep localization strategies, Easy Translation offers a straightforward and potentially more affordable solution, particularly if they value a privacy-focused approach. The free tier of 1 million characters is a good starting point to test its capabilities. Its simplicity and integration using Shopify's native translation features are beneficial.
However, for merchants actively selling in multiple Shopify Markets or using Global-e, and who need to optimize the customer experience based on location, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is the clear choice. Its high rating, numerous reviews, and focus on market-specific personalization tools provide a more comprehensive solution for maximizing international sales and creating a seamless global shopping experience. The wider range of features justifies the higher complexity and may offer a greater return on investment for those with a well-defined multi-market strategy. Based on available data, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty would be preferable for most merchants already operating in multiple markets.
