EasyFlow Product Options vs VSI: Variants Shared Inventoryfor Shopify (2026)
EasyFlow Product Options and VSI: Variants Shared Inventory, while both categorized under 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' in the Shopify app store, cater to vastly different merchant needs. EasyFlow Product Options focuses on enabling extensive product customization and personalization, allowing merchants to offer a wide array of options to their customers. It empowers stores to create complex product configurations, dynamic pricing based on selections, and advanced variant management, making it suitable for businesses aiming to increase average order value through upselling and personalized offerings. VSI: Variants Shared Inventory, on the other hand, addresses inventory management challenges for merchants selling products with shared variants across multiple product listings, such as printed merchandise or composite products. Its strength lies in centralizing stock management by grouping variants together and automatically reducing inventory upon sale. It simplifies operations for stores struggling with keeping accurate track of shared stock, thus preventing overselling and improving inventory accuracy. The two apps therefore are unlikely to compete directly but instead fill separate areas of functionality in the product customisation and variants management domain.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to offer highly customizable products with numerous options, conditional logic, and dynamic pricing, EasyFlow Product Options is the clear choice. Its extensive feature set and strong user ratings (5/5 with 313 reviews) suggest a well-regarded and robust solution for product personalization. This is ideal for stores selling products where personalization is a key selling point.
Conversely, if the primary concern is managing shared inventory across multiple product variants efficiently, VSI: Variants Shared Inventory is the better fit. While its rating is slightly lower (4.5/5) and the review count significantly smaller (5 reviews), its specialized focus on inventory management and automatic stock reduction addresses a specific pain point for merchants selling products with shared variations. VSI is the right tool if the main task is reducing duplicated stock counts across Shopify.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing Average Order Value (AOV)?
EasyFlow Product Options is more likely to increase AOV due to its smart price add-ons and upsell capabilities integrated directly within the product customization process.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, but with careful planning. EasyFlow manages product options, and VSI manages the inventory. Ensure there is no conflict in how they interact with Shopify's variant system. A thorough test should always be done.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the description, EasyFlow, with its higher number of reviews and focus on user-friendly features like bulk editing, likely provides a smoother setup experience. However this may depend on the particular use case of the merchant.
What happens if a shared variant in VSI goes out of stock?
According to the app description, the variant can be automatically set to 'out of stock' when the shared inventory runs out, preventing further sales of that variant across all linked products.
Does EasyFlow work with all Shopify themes?
The description states that EasyFlow loads fast on the storefront, suggesting good theme compatibility. However, merchants should always test the app's functionality with their specific theme before committing to a subscription.
