Easy:Sale Schedule Sales Price and EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift both operate within the discounts category on Shopify, but they cater to fundamentally different promotional strategies. Easy:Sale focuses on scheduled price changes and bulk editing of product prices for sales events like BFCM, offering features such as repeating sales and countdown timers to drive urgency. Its core strength lies in automating and managing temporary price discounts across a large product catalog. In contrast, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift centers around incentivizing purchases through free gifts and BOGO offers, automatically adding items to the customer's cart based on predefined rules. It aims to increase average order value and customer engagement by rewarding purchases with complimentary products or deals. The primary difference lies in their approach to discounts. Easy:Sale modifies the existing price, whereas EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift adds additional value in the form of a free product or a BOGO deal. Consequently, they appeal to distinct merchant needs. Easy:Sale is ideal for businesses running time-sensitive promotions, while EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift is more suitable for those seeking to boost order value and customer loyalty through product-based incentives. Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing streamlined management of time-sensitive sales promotions involving price reductions, Easy:Sale Schedule Sales Price offers a focused solution. The ability to schedule and automate price changes, especially for events like BFCM, makes it ideal for those seeking efficiency in running temporary discounts. However, the low review count should be considered.
On the other hand, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift is the better choice for merchants looking to incentivize purchases and increase average order value through free gifts and BOGO offers. Its higher rating and significantly larger number of reviews suggest a more established and widely adopted solution. The feature set catering to auto-adding gifts based on cart conditions provides a robust framework for creating compelling purchase incentives. Thus, the choice hinges on whether the goal is primarily to manage temporary price reductions or to drive sales through added-value offers.
Common Questions
Can both apps run simultaneously on a Shopify store?
Yes, theoretically. They address different promotional mechanisms (price changes vs. free gifts). However, careful planning is needed to prevent overlapping discounts from confusing customers or negatively impacting margins. Test thoroughly in a staging environment.
Which app is better for Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BFCM) sales?
Easy:Sale is directly tailored for BFCM sales with its scheduling and bulk price editing features. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift could complement this by offering free gifts with minimum purchase amounts during BFCM, but Easy:Sale is the primary tool for price-focused BFCM promotions.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Both apps claim to be easy to use. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift emphasizes its 'super simple UI,' which coupled with the greater number of reviews and adoption, suggests potentially easier initial configuration. However, a direct comparison requires a trial of both apps.
