EasySell COD Form & Upsells vs SMART Checkout Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
EasySell COD Form & Upsells and SMART Checkout Rules both aim to optimize the Shopify checkout process, but they target distinctly different merchant needs. EasySell focuses specifically on boosting conversions and AOV with streamlined Cash on Delivery (COD) order forms, upsells, and post-purchase offers. It prioritizes ease of use for merchants offering COD, especially those involved in dropshipping, by providing customizable forms, order management tools (like Google Sheets export), and marketing integrations (Facebook, TikTok, etc.). SMART Checkout Rules, on the other hand, offers more granular control over the entire checkout flow, allowing merchants to tailor payment, shipping, and discount options based on a wide range of conditions. While EasySell aims to simplify and enhance the COD experience with features like OTP verification and order tracking, SMART Checkout Rules offers a flexible rules engine for customizing the checkout process for various customer segments or risk profiles. SMART Checkout Rules is designed for merchants who require advanced control over their checkout, offering features like conditional logic, A/B testing, and fraud prevention. It is ideally suited for merchants looking to fine-tune the checkout for B2B sales, international markets, or high-risk orders, offering greater customization capabilities that don't necessarily rely on Cash on Delivery.

Our Verdict
If you're primarily focused on offering and optimizing Cash on Delivery, especially for dropshipping, EasySell COD Form & Upsells is the stronger choice. Its focus on simplifying the COD process, coupled with upsell features and marketing integrations, provides a complete solution for maximizing revenue from COD orders. The higher number of reviews suggests broader adoption and confidence in EasySell's COD functionality.
However, if you need advanced control over your checkout flow beyond just COD, and you require the ability to dynamically adjust payment, shipping, and discount options based on various conditions, SMART Checkout Rules is the better option. Its rules engine enables complex checkout scenarios that are well-suited for B2B businesses, international sales, or situations requiring fraud prevention. While it has fewer reviews, its focus on granular control provides a powerful tool for customizing the checkout experience to meet specific business needs.
