Easyteam for Point of Sale vs Launchpadfor Shopify (2026)
Easyteam for Point of Sale and Launchpad both fall under the 'Operations' category on the Shopify app store, but they cater to vastly different needs. Easyteam focuses on comprehensive staff management for brick-and-mortar Shopify Point of Sale (POS) retailers. It aims to streamline employee-related tasks like scheduling, time tracking, payroll, and performance management. Launchpad, on the other hand, is designed for Shopify Plus merchants to automate and schedule sales campaigns, product releases, and flash sales. It focuses on marketing automation and operational efficiency related to large-scale sales events. Easyteam's primary strength lies in its high rating (5/5 with 243 reviews) and its focus on the often-overlooked aspect of retail staff management. Its features like POS-integrated clock-in/out, commission tracking (with Stocky support), and payroll processing offer a comprehensive solution for retailers. Launchpad's strength is in campaign automation, enabling merchants to schedule changes to themes, product visibility, and discounts. However, its lower rating (2/5 with only 32 reviews) suggests potential drawbacks or limitations in its functionality or user experience. The Shopify Plus exclusivity is a significant barrier for the vast majority of Shopify merchants. A key differentiator is their target audience: Easyteam serves Shopify POS retailers of any size, while Launchpad is exclusively for Shopify Plus merchants. Easyteam solves the pain points of managing retail staff effectively, whereas Launchpad addresses the challenges of executing complex sales campaigns.

Our Verdict
For the vast majority of Shopify merchants who are not on Shopify Plus, Easyteam for Point of Sale is the only viable option. Its high rating, extensive features for staff management, and POS integration make it a strong contender for retailers looking to optimize their workforce operations. Launchpad is only suitable for Shopify Plus merchants looking to automate complex sales campaigns. However, given its low rating, merchants should thoroughly investigate its limitations and potential drawbacks before committing. Easyteam offers more comprehensive value for a wider range of Shopify users, particularly those managing physical retail locations.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a first-time Shopify app user?
Easyteam likely has a shallower learning curve, focusing on user experience and onboarding. Launchpad, due to its campaign complexity and lower rating, may require more configuration and troubleshooting.
Which app is more cost-effective for a small business?
Without pricing information, a definitive answer is impossible. However, Easyteam caters to businesses of all sizes. Launchpad's Shopify Plus requirement makes it inherently more expensive overall, as it requires a more premium Shopify plan.
Which app integrates better with Shopify POS?
Easyteam explicitly states integration with Shopify POS, enabling clock-in/out and other features directly within the POS system. Launchpad focuses on the Shopify admin and does not mention POS integration.
Which app is better for managing a large sales team?
Easyteam's focus on staff management, including sales performance tracking and commissions, makes it better suited for managing a large sales team. Launchpad is geared towards campaign execution, not individual employee performance.
Which app is best for automating product discounts?
Launchpad is the better option for automating discounts within a scheduled campaign. It allows you to schedule product visibility, theme changes, and line-item scripts to execute the discount strategy.
