Easyteam for Point of Sale vs Widgetic (Maps)for Shopify (2026)
Easyteam for Point of Sale and Widgetic (Maps) cater to vastly different needs within the 'Selling in person' category on Shopify. Easyteam is a comprehensive staff management solution tailored for brick-and-mortar retailers using Shopify POS. It aims to streamline employee scheduling, time tracking, payroll, and performance management. Its strengths lie in its deep integration with Shopify POS, comprehensive feature set, and robust user feedback, indicated by its high rating and significant number of reviews. Widgetic (Maps), on the other hand, is a focused application designed to enhance the customer experience by enabling merchants to embed customized Google Maps on their website, helping customers locate physical stores. Its strengths lie in its customizability with custom map marker images and UI personalization using a visual editor. However, the app currently lacks user reviews and ratings, raising concerns about its proven functionality and user experience. In 2026, with the increasing importance of both efficient staff management and omnichannel presence, a merchant's choice between these apps hinges on their primary pain points and goals. Easyteam directly addresses operational inefficiencies related to workforce management, while Widgetic focuses on improving discoverability and wayfinding for customers seeking in-person shopping experiences.

Our Verdict
For a retailer struggling with employee scheduling, payroll processing, and sales tracking, Easyteam for Point of Sale is the clear choice. Its mature feature set, proven reliability (backed by positive reviews), and seamless integration with Shopify POS make it a worthwhile investment. However, if the primary goal is to improve customer wayfinding and increase foot traffic to physical stores, Widgetic (Maps) offers a customizable solution. The lack of reviews for Widgetic (Maps) makes it a riskier choice; merchants should carefully evaluate its functionality before committing to it.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on the merchant's specific needs and priorities. If staff management is a significant pain point, Easyteam is the superior solution. If improving store discoverability is the main objective, Widgetic (Maps) could be a viable option, but requires more careful consideration and testing.
