Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on driving immediate sales and boosting product visibility through enhanced customer engagement, Ecom Wishlist Expert offers a potentially quick and impactful solution, assuming the low review count is not indicative of broader issues. However, the low number of reviews is concerning. If the goal is building a sustainable, recurring revenue stream through subscription models, Recurpay: Subscriptions app is the clear choice. Its established user base (400 reviews) and comprehensive subscription management features, including 24/7 support, make it a robust and reliable option for subscription-based businesses.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim effortless/easy setup. Ecom Wishlist Expert touts 'effortless setup', while Recurpay mentions 'quick and easy setup that works within minutes'. Without hands-on experience, it's difficult to determine which is truly easier, but Recurpay's larger user base might suggest a smoother process.
Which app offers better customer support?
Recurpay: Subscriptions app explicitly states '24/7 live human support', a significant advantage. Ecom Wishlist Expert only mentions 'quick support', which lacks specifics about availability and support channels.
Can I customize the look and feel of each app?
Yes, both apps offer customization options. Ecom Wishlist Expert allows personalization of colors, fonts, and styles to match your store's branding. Recurpay lets you design a custom subscription widget.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
If the new store is focused on subscription-based products, Recurpay is the better choice due to its comprehensive subscription management features and readily available support. If the store primarily sells individual products and aims to boost immediate sales, Ecom Wishlist Expert might be considered, but the low review count suggests caution is warranted.
Which app is better if I want to offer discounts?
Recurpay explicitly states it allows you to 'offer tiered discounts', a feature not mentioned in Ecom Wishlist Expert's description. Therefore, Recurpay is better suited if offering discounts is a key requirement.
