Our Verdict
EcomRise: Upsell & Bundles is the superior choice for merchants seeking a comprehensive suite of tools to increase sales, average order value, and conversion rates. Its diverse feature set addresses multiple facets of the customer journey, from initial product discovery to checkout. However, merchants solely interested in gathering basic customer feedback on products, collections, and blog posts may find ThumbsUp adequate, although the extremely low review count and rating should be a significant caution. Considering the significant difference in ratings and reviews, EcomRise is a far more reliable option for most Shopify stores seeking to improve their bottom line.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
ThumbsUp is likely easier to set up due to its more limited functionality, focusing solely on adding like/dislike buttons. EcomRise's broader feature set might require more configuration to optimize effectively.
Which app is better for increasing average order value?
EcomRise: Upsell & Bundles is explicitly designed for increasing average order value through upsells, cross-sells, bundles, and volume discounts. ThumbsUp does not directly impact average order value.
Which app provides more control over the customer experience?
EcomRise arguably provides more control, allowing merchants to customize sales notifications, trust badges, and even website content protection. ThumbsUp's control is limited to button placement and template selection.
Is EcomRise suitable for a very small store?
While EcomRise's features can benefit even small stores, the breadth of options might be overwhelming. A small store might initially focus on simpler upsell/bundle strategies before exploring all of EcomRise's capabilities.
How does the rating of each app impact the decision?
The significant difference in ratings (5/5 for EcomRise vs. 1.9/5 for ThumbsUp) should be a major factor. High ratings with a substantial number of reviews suggest a generally positive user experience. The low rating and review count for ThumbsUp raise concerns about its reliability and effectiveness.
