EditEngine Bulk Product Editor vs Locations Plusfor Shopify (2026)
EditEngine Bulk Product Editor and Locations Plus are both Shopify apps targeting merchants needing bulk editing capabilities, but they serve very different needs. EditEngine focuses on streamlining product information management. Its strength lies in the ability to quickly update product details like titles, prices, inventory, and SEO settings across a large catalog, complete with real-time previews and undo functionality. It appears suitable for merchants with a large product catalog requiring frequent adjustments or those needing to optimize product data for sales channels. Locations Plus, on the other hand, is designed for businesses operating multiple physical locations. Its focus is on simplifying the management of store-specific data, allowing merchants to perform bulk actions related to location settings, online fulfillment, BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick Up In Store) configurations, and custom location-based information. It’s tailored towards retailers, franchises, and businesses managing a network of brick-and-mortar stores, emphasizing operational efficiency and data organization across multiple locations.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with editing product data like prices, descriptions, and inventory in bulk, EditEngine Bulk Product Editor seems the better choice. The high rating and preview/revert features suggest a user-friendly experience with minimal risk of errors. The fact that it edits google shopping metafields as well suggests that it is geared towards online sales.
If a business manages multiple physical locations and needs to streamline location-specific settings, manage BOPIS or manage location-based fields, Locations Plus is the obvious solution. While it lacks initial reviews and rating at the time of this analysis, its specialized features for multi-location management make it invaluable for that specific use case. However, the lack of reviews should encourage caution and potentially warrant a trial period to assess its functionality and reliability.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for beginners?
EditEngine likely has a shallower learning curve due to its focus on product data, which is a common Shopify element. The preview and revert features also lower the risk of making mistakes.
Does either app support scheduling bulk edits?
EditEngine explicitly mentions scheduling edits as a key feature. Locations Plus does not mention scheduling.
Can Locations Plus be used for managing warehouses instead of retail locations?
While potentially adaptable, Locations Plus is explicitly designed for *store* locations. Using it for warehouses might require creative workarounds and may not leverage its full functionality.
If I only have one location but want to bulk edit product data, which app is better?
EditEngine Bulk Product Editor is definitely the better option in that scenario. Locations Plus' features are irrelevant without multiple locations.
How can I gauge the reliability of Locations Plus given the lack of reviews?
Contact the developer and inquire about a free trial or a demo. Thoroughly test all key features relevant to your business during the trial period. Look for documentation and support resources.
