EDP ‑ Easy Digital Products vs TalentLMSfor Shopify (2026)
EDP ‑ Easy Digital Products and TalentLMS both cater to the digital products category on Shopify, but they serve fundamentally different needs. EDP appears to be a straightforward solution for selling and delivering digital goods directly through a Shopify store, while TalentLMS is a Learning Management System (LMS) designed for creating and delivering online training courses. TalentLMS focuses on creating a custom training hub, providing features for building courses with various content types, reaching learners through mobile apps, and gathering feedback. Its description highlights its ability to create custom training portals, add discounts and certificates, and enroll users en masse. The primary difference lies in their intended use. EDP streamlines the process of selling digital files like ebooks, music, or software, likely emphasizing ease of use and integration with existing Shopify workflows. TalentLMS, on the other hand, caters to merchants who want to offer educational courses or training programs to their customers or even their internal teams. Although both apps have a 5/5 rating, the significant difference in the number of reviews (175 for EDP vs. 1 for TalentLMS) suggests that EDP has a much larger user base and, possibly, a longer track record within the Shopify ecosystem.

Our Verdict
If a merchant simply wants to sell digital downloads alongside their physical products, EDP ‑ Easy Digital Products is the more suitable choice. It likely offers a simpler and more direct solution for managing and delivering downloadable files. However, if a merchant's primary business involves creating and selling online courses, or if they need a platform for employee training, TalentLMS is the clear winner. Its comprehensive LMS features provide the necessary tools for course creation, user management, and performance tracking. The low number of reviews for TalentLMS compared to EDP warrants extra caution; however, the feature set is uniquely suited for specific needs.
