Our Verdict
The choice between EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift and Nex Minimum Order Quantity MOQ depends entirely on the merchant's goals. If the aim is to boost sales and AOV by incentivizing purchases with free gifts and special offers, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift is the clear choice. The high rating and large number of reviews suggest it effectively delivers on this promise. However, if the priority is controlling order size, preventing bulk buying or enforcing minimum purchase thresholds for profitability, then Nex Minimum Order Quantity MOQ is the more suitable option, especially given its focus on preventing checkout bypass. While it has fewer reviews, its features directly address these specific needs.
Common Questions
Can EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift prevent customers from bypassing the free gift rules?
The description mentions scheduling rules but does not explicitly state whether the app prevents customers from bypassing these rules at checkout. Nex Minimum Order Quantity MOQ, however, explicitly states that its checkout validation is reliable and prevents bypass.
Which app is easier to use?
According to the descriptions, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift claims creating rules is "as easy as meditation," while Nex Minimum Order Quantity MOQ states "no code needed." Both suggest ease of use, but user experience may vary.
Can both apps be used together on the same Shopify store?
Yes, theoretically they can coexist since they address different aspects of the cart and checkout process. One encourages larger orders with gifts, while the other limits them. However, merchants should test thoroughly to ensure the rules don't conflict and negatively impact the customer experience.
Is either app suitable for wholesale businesses?
Nex Minimum Order Quantity MOQ is explicitly designed to be "Wholesale Ready" and offers features for setting order value and quantity limits. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift, while potentially useful for wholesale promotions, does not explicitly target wholesale businesses.
How does EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift handle inventory of free gifts?
The app description does not mention inventory management for free gifts. Merchants need to manage this independently, ensuring they have sufficient stock of free gifts to fulfill orders.
