Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing simple, automated volume-driving promotions like free gifts and BOGO offers, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift appears to be the stronger choice, especially considering its substantial number of positive reviews. Its focus on cart-based rules and scheduling makes it ideal for running short-term promotional campaigns to quickly boost sales.
However, if maximizing profitability through personalized discounts and leveraging AI for optimization is the priority, Promi AI: Personalized Offers is a better fit. Its AI-powered discounting and custom targeting capabilities allow for a more nuanced approach to incentives, aiming to convert hesitant buyers without broadly discounting sales. The lower number of reviews is a consideration, suggesting it might be newer or cater to a smaller, more tech-savvy niche.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift claims a "super simple UI", while Promi AI states a "self-serve setup" taking 10 minutes. Without testing, it's difficult to definitively say, but EG Auto Add to Cart's focus on cart-based rules suggests a simpler, more straightforward setup process.
Which app is better for running a 'Buy One Get One Free' promotion?
EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift explicitly mentions BOGO offers in its headline and description, making it the clear choice for this type of promotion. Promi AI's personalized discounting isn't designed for direct BOGO offers.
Which app is better for merchants with a large customer database?
Promi AI: Personalized Offers, with its AI-powered personalization, would likely benefit more from a large customer database, as it can train its model to optimize discounts based on individual visitor data. EG Auto Add to Cart's rules are based on cart contents, so a large customer database is less crucial.
Which app is better for a new store with limited data?
EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift is likely a better starting point for a new store. It doesn't rely on historical data for personalization, making it immediately useful. Promi AI's effectiveness depends on training its AI model, which requires a certain amount of data.
Are these apps compatible with all Shopify themes?
Neither app explicitly states their theme compatibility. It is crucial to review their documentation and potentially contact their support teams before making a decision and ensure they work seamlessly with your specific Shopify theme.
