EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift vs Rebuy Personalization Enginefor Shopify (2026)
EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift and Rebuy Personalization Engine both aim to increase sales through cart and checkout optimization, but they employ very different strategies and target distinct merchant needs. EG Auto Add to Cart focuses on simple, rules-based promotional offers like free gifts with purchase, BOGO deals, and Buy X Get Y promotions. It emphasizes ease of use, aiming to make setting up these promotions 'as easy as meditation for a monk'. The core value proposition is increasing average order value (AOV) through enticing customers with automatically added gifts based on predetermined conditions. Rebuy Personalization Engine, on the other hand, is a comprehensive AI-powered personalization platform. It leverages machine learning to deliver tailored product recommendations, upsells, and cross-sells throughout the entire shopping journey – from search and collections to cart, checkout, and even post-purchase. Rebuy offers a suite of tools for A/B testing and customizable cart features. While also aiming to boost AOV and lifetime value (LTV), Rebuy's focus is on leveraging data and AI to provide a dynamic and personalized shopping experience, rather than relying solely on static promotional rules. Rebuy targets larger Shopify stores looking for advanced personalization capabilities.

Our Verdict
For smaller Shopify stores or merchants seeking a straightforward way to implement free gift promotions and simple BOGO offers, EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift is the clear choice. Its ease of use and targeted functionality make it a quick and effective solution for boosting AOV through readily understood incentives. It requires minimal technical expertise and offers immediate benefits.
For larger Shopify stores with more complex product catalogs and a desire for a fully personalized shopping experience, Rebuy Personalization Engine is the superior option. Its AI-powered capabilities allow for dynamic recommendations, A/B testing, and a highly customizable customer journey, ultimately driving higher AOV and LTV. The higher rating from Rebuy hints that it is well loved by the merchants. However, that comes with a learning curve and potentially higher implementation costs, and therefore may be overkill for smaller operations that just need to give away a free gift every now and then.
