EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift vs Yagi Express Payment Hiderfor Shopify (2026)
EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift and Yagi Express Payment Hider, while both falling under the 'Checkout' category on the Shopify app store, serve entirely different purposes and target distinct merchant needs. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift is a comprehensive sales and marketing tool designed to boost revenue through automated upselling and promotional offers. It focuses on incentivizing customers to increase their order value by offering free gifts, BOGO deals, and other cart-based promotions based on predefined rules. Its strength lies in its ability to automate these processes, potentially increasing average order value and conversion rates. Yagi Express Payment Hider, on the other hand, is a highly specific app focused on optimizing the checkout flow. It addresses the issue of potential checkout abandonment caused by the visibility of express checkout options early in the checkout process. By hiding express payment methods until the payment selection step, it aims to guide customers through the standard checkout flow, ensuring they are aware of all available payment options and preventing them from bouncing if they don't have a readily available express payment method account. This app is for those who want to create a custom and seamless payment flow without changing too much to the base store layout, as it does not affect it.

Its robust features allow for targeted upsells and BOGO deals, potentially driving significant revenue growth. Merchants who are serious about using promotions as a core part of their sales strategy will find this app particularly valuable.
Yagi Express Payment Hider is best suited for merchants specifically experiencing high checkout abandonment rates and suspecting that the early visibility of express payment options is a contributing factor. It's a more targeted solution for a very specific checkout optimization issue. If a merchant is unsure whether this is the cause, they could analyze their checkout data to determine if shoppers are abandoning after only seeing the express checkout options before selecting one. If so, then Yagi Express Payment Hider may be worth implementing to fix it.
