Our Verdict
The choice between Ekookie and Google Consent Mode V2 depends heavily on the merchant's priorities and technical expertise. For merchants prioritizing a user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing consent experience, along with easier GDPR compliance setup, Ekookie ‑ Consent V2 ready is likely the better option, assuming the Ekookie service it connects to offers sufficient value. However, merchants deeply integrated with Google's marketing ecosystem, particularly those using Google Tag Manager and prioritizing performance optimization, may find Google Consent Mode V2 more suitable, especially if they require full control over branding and no third-party subscription fees. The lack of reviews for Google Consent Mode V2 is a significant drawback in 2026, making it harder to recommend without further validation from other users. Until more user data is available, Ekookie offers a slightly more reliable choice due to its existing positive, albeit limited, feedback.
