EM Lookbook ‑ Shop by Gallery vs Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Storyfor Shopify (2026)
EM Lookbook - Shop by Gallery and Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story both enhance the visual appeal and sales potential of Shopify stores through rich media, but they cater to different needs. EM Lookbook focuses on creating interactive image galleries, allowing customers to shop directly from visually appealing 'lookbooks'. Vidjet, on the other hand, centers around video content, offering various formats like stories, carousels, and floating videos. Vidjet also emphasizes performance, claiming no impact on site speed. Both aim to increase engagement and conversions but use fundamentally different media formats. EM Lookbook is likely targeted at merchants who already have high-quality product photography and want to present their products in a visually curated and shoppable format. Vidjet seems geared towards merchants with existing video content (UGC or product videos) or those wanting to quickly create and deploy video-based experiences without coding. Vidjet's focus on site speed preservation suggests a sensitivity to performance concerns, addressing a major pain point for visually rich websites. Vidjet has more advanced formats available and more features listed that can allow for greater marketing possibilities.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing visually curated product presentation using high-quality photography, EM Lookbook could be a good fit, although available information is lacking regarding content creation tools. However, for merchants with existing video assets or those wanting to adopt video-based marketing strategies with an emphasis on site performance, Vidjet appears to be the stronger choice. The explicit mention of no impact on site speed and the availability of diverse video formats, along with integrated analytics, make Vidjet a more comprehensive solution for modern video marketing. The slightly lower review count for Vidjet is offset by the perfect rating, suggesting high user satisfaction with the features offered. Overall, Vidjet seems to offer more in terms of features, marketing possibilities and modern web design.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up for a complete beginner?
Based on the descriptions, Vidjet seems to offer a streamlined setup with features like one-click video imports and pre-built formats, potentially making it easier for beginners. EM Lookbook's ease of use is not specified, making it harder to judge its learning curve.
Which app is better for increasing conversion rates?
Both apps aim to increase conversion rates through engaging visuals. Vidjet directly mentions the ability to add product tags and CTAs to videos, providing a more direct path to purchase. EM Lookbook's lookbooks could also drive conversions, but the effectiveness likely depends on the quality of the photography and curation.
Does Vidjet actually prevent site speed issues?
Vidjet explicitly claims to have no impact on site speed, even with numerous videos. However, it's essential to independently verify this claim as factors beyond the app can affect site speed. This is a major selling point, and if proven true, it provides a clear advantage over EM Lookbook which doesn't address the concern.
What type of stores are best suited to using EM Lookbook - Shop by Gallery?
Stores with established brand identities and high-quality, professionally styled product photography will likely benefit most from EM Lookbook. Think fashion boutiques, home decor stores, or brands with a strong aesthetic.
What if I have both high-quality images and videos? Which app is a better starting point?
If you have both, assess your marketing goals. If you want quick, engaging content that can be easily shared and promotes quick sales, Vidjet's Stories format is compelling. If you want to curate a specific 'vibe' around your products with high-end photography, EM Lookbook may be the better option, but more information is needed about content creation within the app.
