Enchant Product Age Verifier vs ProveSource: Sales Pop Upsfor Shopify (2026)
Enchant Product Age Verifier and ProveSource: Sales Pop Ups are both Shopify apps that utilize pop-ups, but they serve drastically different purposes and target entirely different audiences. Enchant Product Age Verifier focuses specifically on age verification for specific products, aiming to help merchants comply with regulations by restricting access to underage users. Its primary value proposition lies in allowing granular control over which products require age verification and customization of the verification message. ProveSource: Sales Pop Ups, on the other hand, is designed to increase sales and build trust by displaying recent sales and social proof notifications. While it shares the 'Pop-ups' category, it leverages pop-ups to drive conversions rather than restrict access. The most significant difference lies in their objectives: compliance vs. conversion. Based on the provided data, the user ratings and review volume suggest vastly different levels of customer satisfaction and adoption, with ProveSource having a much stronger positive reputation.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling age-restricted products and prioritizing legal compliance, Enchant Product Age Verifier offers targeted age verification. However, the extremely low rating and limited number of reviews raise serious concerns about its reliability and user experience. Merchants considering Enchant should proceed with caution and thoroughly investigate user feedback, if available, beyond the given data.
ProveSource: Sales Pop Ups is the clearly superior choice for merchants aiming to boost sales and build customer trust through social proof. Its perfect rating and substantial number of positive reviews strongly suggest a well-designed and effective app. It's not relevant for age verification purposes, though. If age verification is needed, and Enchant is the only option, due diligence is required before deployment.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Enchant Product Age Verifier claims to allow setup in under a minute, but the low rating raises doubts about this claim. ProveSource's ease of use is not explicitly mentioned, but the high rating suggests a relatively smooth experience.
Which app is more reliable?
Based on the rating and review count, ProveSource is significantly more reliable than Enchant Product Age Verifier. Enchant's low rating indicates potential issues.
Can ProveSource be used for age verification?
No, ProveSource is designed for sales and social proof notifications, not age verification. It is not a substitute for an age verification solution.
Does Enchant Product Age Verifier verify the customer's age?
The description suggests it blocks underage users from accessing products, but doesn't specify how age is determined. It likely relies on self-declaration, which may not be legally sufficient in some jurisdictions.
Which app is better for increasing sales?
ProveSource is explicitly designed to increase sales through social proof. Enchant Product Age Verifier is not designed for this purpose and is unlikely to have a positive impact on sales; in fact, it might slightly reduce sales by restricting access to some users.
