Enhance: Approve New Customers vs HOOK Social Loginfor Shopify (2026)
Enhance: Approve New Customers and HOOK Social Login both aim to improve the account and login experience on Shopify stores, but they address fundamentally different needs. Enhance focuses on security and control by allowing merchants to manually approve new customer registrations and restrict access, ensuring only verified individuals can access the store. This is positioned as a solution for stores needing higher levels of security or age verification. HOOK Social Login, on the other hand, prioritizes user convenience and conversion by enabling one-tap login through popular social media platforms, eliminating the need for traditional sign-up processes. This is geared towards stores that want to reduce friction and increase sign-up rates. The apps cater to very different merchant priorities, with Enhance valuing security and control, while HOOK prioritizes user experience and conversion.

Our Verdict
The best app for a merchant depends entirely on their specific needs. If security and control are paramount, and the store requires manual verification of customers due to legal requirements (e.g., age verification) or concerns about fraudulent accounts, then Enhance: Approve New Customers is the clear choice. However, for merchants prioritizing user experience, aiming to reduce friction in the sign-up process, and wanting to increase conversion rates, HOOK Social Login is the superior option. HOOK allows for quicker access and removes barriers to entry.
