Our Verdict
For businesses primarily concerned with accurate and clear price presentation, especially regarding VAT for both B2B and B2C customers in different regions, Enhance: VAT Dual Prices B2B is the superior choice. Its customization options for price display and the ability to set different tax rates based on various criteria make it a powerful tool for ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction. The higher number of reviews, while not definitive, suggests a more established user base and potentially more extensive testing in real-world scenarios.
However, if the goal is to foster customer engagement and personalize the shopping experience through negotiated pricing, then ES: Request Quote - Make Offer is the better fit. It enables a unique, interactive pricing strategy, especially useful for high-value or customizable products where price negotiation is common. While it has fewer reviews, its feature set is tailored specifically for this negotiation-driven approach, which Enhance: VAT Dual Prices B2B completely lacks.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for basic price adjustments?
Enhance: VAT Dual Prices B2B might be easier for basic adjustments related to VAT display and tax rules, as it focuses on automating calculations based on predefined criteria. ES: Request Quote requires a different understanding of sales strategies, specifically centered around negotiations and offers. It is more about managing the offer process.
Which app is better for a store selling exclusively to consumers within one country?
Neither app is strictly *necessary* in this scenario. Enhance: VAT Dual Prices B2B could be useful if the store wants to display prices both including and excluding VAT, but it is not essential. ES: Request Quote might be useful if the merchant wants to negotiate prices with their customers. The use case is not really for an exclusively consumer based store as most prices are fixed.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, but it requires careful consideration. Enhance: VAT Dual Prices B2B handles upfront price display, while ES: Request Quote handles price negotiation. If ES: Request Quote is used to adjust prices after an offer, Enhance needs to accurately reflect the final, negotiated price and VAT. Configuration is required to avoid discrepancies.
Does either app integrate with accounting software?
The provided descriptions don't mention any specific integrations with accounting software. It's best to check the full app descriptions on the Shopify App Store for this information. A lot of Shopify apps integrate with Quickbooks and Xero.
Which app is more scalable for a growing B2B business?
Enhance: VAT Dual Prices B2B is likely more scalable for a growing B2B business due to its focus on automating VAT calculations and displaying accurate pricing. As the business expands to new countries and deals with different customer segments, the app's ability to handle complex tax rules becomes increasingly valuable. ES: Request Quote - Make Offer can also be scalable, but will require additional staff or automations to manage the offer and negotiations on an ever-increasing scale
