ES Background Music Player vs Seasonizefor Shopify (2026)
ES Background Music Player and Seasonize, both categorized under Animation and effects on the Shopify app store, cater to fundamentally different needs. ES Background Music Player focuses on enhancing the user experience through audio, allowing merchants to add background music to their storefront with a customizable player. Seasonize, on the other hand, targets seasonal marketing by enabling merchants to add animations and decorations to their stores to reflect holidays or specific times of the year. While both aim to improve engagement, they achieve this through distinct methods – auditory ambiance versus visual theming. The core distinction lies in their application. ES Background Music Player aims to create a continuous atmospheric enhancement, suitable for brands aiming for a specific mood or user experience, while Seasonize offers targeted, time-limited visual enhancements designed to capitalize on seasonal shopping trends. The 'Advanced Targeting' feature of Seasonize, which allows for displaying effects based on country, page, or products, is a key differentiator, offering granular control over where and when animations appear. Conversely, ES Background Music Player emphasizes customizability of the audio player itself, allowing merchants to integrate it seamlessly with their existing website design. The significant difference in user feedback, with ES Background Music Player boasting a 5/5 rating based on 2 reviews, compared to Seasonize's 0/5 with no reviews, suggests a difference in market reception, though the sample size is small.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking to create a continuous, ambient auditory experience on their Shopify store, ES Background Music Player appears to be the more suitable option, particularly given its perfect rating, albeit based on a limited number of reviews. The focus on player customization allows for seamless integration with the existing website design.
Seasonize, on the other hand, caters to merchants aiming to leverage seasonal marketing trends with visual decorations and animations. The advanced targeting capabilities offer a granular level of control over where and when these effects are displayed, making it ideal for running targeted holiday campaigns or promotions. However, the lack of reviews suggests potential risk or a newer app with limited user experience data, demanding more careful consideration.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, ES Background Music Player, being a simple widget, likely offers an easier initial setup. Seasonize, with its advanced targeting options, may require more configuration to display animations effectively.
Which app provides a better return on investment (ROI)?
ROI depends heavily on the merchant's specific strategy. If background music aligns with the brand and improves engagement, ES Background Music Player could yield a high ROI. Similarly, if Seasonize's animations effectively drive seasonal sales, its ROI could be substantial. The value is derived differently.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, technically, a merchant could use both apps. However, it's crucial to consider the overall user experience. Overlapping sounds and animations might overwhelm visitors. Careful planning and testing are necessary.
Which app is more likely to slow down my website?
Without performance data, it's difficult to say definitively. Animations and background music files, especially if not optimized, can impact page load speed. It's recommended to test both apps and monitor performance metrics.
Does either app offer a free trial?
The provided descriptions don't specify whether either app offers a free trial. Merchants should check the app listings in the Shopify App Store for trial information.
