Essential AI SEO: AI Blog Post vs Lyros ‑ Smart SEO & Tagsfor Shopify (2026)
Essential AI SEO: AI Blog Post and Lyros ‑ Smart SEO & Tags both aim to improve SEO for Shopify stores, but they target different areas and employ AI in distinct ways. Essential AI SEO focuses on generating blog content, providing an AI blog writer and editor for creating SEO-optimized articles in multiple languages. It positions itself as a comprehensive blog creation tool, promising to boost SEO through regular blog posts and a bulk blog generator feature. Lyros, conversely, concentrates on optimizing product listings and website metadata for improved search visibility. Its AI capabilities extend to tagging, image alt text generation, meta title and description writing, and product description creation, all powered by GPT-5, enhancing product discoverability and overall store SEO. While Essential AI SEO offers a solution for content marketing and generating blog posts, Lyros focuses on improving the existing product and website content. This difference is critical in determining which app suits a merchant's specific needs. Lyros provides a one-click solution for tasks like tagging and alt-text creation, making it appealing for merchants looking for immediate, automated improvements. Essential AI SEO requires a more strategic approach, focusing on blog content planning and execution. The discrepancy in review counts (377 for Essential AI SEO vs. 4 for Lyros) suggests a significant difference in adoption rates and potentially longer time on the market, although the GPT-5 mention in Lyros may indicate it is a newer app, highlighting more modern AI capabilities.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on building a content-rich blog to attract organic traffic, Essential AI SEO: AI Blog Post is the more suitable choice. Its features cater specifically to generating and optimizing blog content at scale, offering multi-language support. However, for store owners prioritizing the optimization of existing product listings, improving product discoverability, and simplifying tasks like tagging and alt text creation, Lyros ‑ Smart SEO & Tags is the better option. Its one-click AI functionality and focus on product-specific SEO make it ideal for quickly improving the SEO performance of individual products and collections. Given the GPT-5 inclusion, Lyros likely offers a more sophisticated and nuanced understanding of keywords and content, potentially leading to better results in the long run if the product catalog is the main focus.
