Essential Estimated Delivery vs Flare: Delivery Date Pickerfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Estimated Delivery and Flare: Delivery Date Picker both aim to improve the customer experience and reduce WISMO (Where Is My Order) inquiries, but they approach the problem from different angles. Essential Estimated Delivery focuses on providing customers with accurate and customizable estimated delivery dates and processing times *before* checkout, primarily on product pages. This approach is designed to increase conversion rates by building trust and setting clear expectations. Flare: Delivery Date Picker, on the other hand, centers around allowing customers to select their preferred delivery date during the checkout process. It's designed for merchants with complex logistics needs, especially those handling high volumes and using integrations like FedEx, UPS, and ShipStation. Flare aims to automate fulfillment, reduce manual order edits, and prevent over-scheduling.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with improving pre-purchase conversion rates by displaying clear and accurate estimated delivery dates and processing times, Essential Estimated Delivery is likely the better choice. Its emphasis on product page display and ease of customization make it ideal for setting clear expectations. However, if a merchant handles a large volume of orders and needs to automate their fulfillment process with zip code-based delivery rules, order limits, and integrations with popular shipping and subscription services, Flare: Delivery Date Picker is the more suitable option. Flare's focus on checkout integration and logistics automation makes it a powerful tool for complex shipping needs.
