Essential Upsell & Cross Sell vs Heartcoding Thank You Pagefor Shopify (2026)
Essential Upsell & Cross Sell focuses on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) through various upsell and cross-sell techniques displayed throughout the customer journey, primarily on product pages and in the cart. Its strength lies in its comprehensive suite of features, including frequently bought together (FBT) recommendations, product bundles, BOGO offers, and post-purchase upsell discounts. It targets merchants who want to proactively suggest additional products and bundles to customers before they complete their purchase, aiming for immediate AOV uplift. In contrast, Heartcoding Thank You Page concentrates on optimizing the thank you page post-purchase to drive further sales, collect customer data, and enhance brand messaging. It's strength is in leveraging that often-overlooked page for upselling, cross-selling, gathering valuable customer insights (birthdays, surveys), and fostering engagement through features like a Tell-a-Friend program and countdown timers. Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing immediate AOV gains through proactive upsell and cross-sell suggestions throughout the customer journey (product page, cart, post-purchase) and relying on features like FBT recommendations and BOGO offers, Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is the better choice. Its high number of reviews suggests strong user satisfaction and reliability. However, for merchants more interested in optimizing the thank you page experience for post-purchase upselling, data collection, and customer engagement, Heartcoding Thank You Page is the more suitable option. While it has fewer reviews, its focus on data gathering and referrals provides a different, longer-term value proposition. Using both apps strategically will provide the best results for both immediate AOV increases and optimized customer lifecycle strategies.
