Essential Upsell & Cross Sell vs Shiprocket: Address Prefillfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Upsell & Cross Sell and Shiprocket: Address Prefill, while both appearing in the Shopify Checkout category, serve fundamentally different purposes. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell focuses on maximizing Average Order Value (AOV) through strategic product recommendations and upsell/cross-sell offers presented throughout the customer journey, from product pages to the cart drawer and even post-purchase. It caters to merchants seeking to increase revenue by encouraging customers to purchase more items per order. Shiprocket: Address Prefill, on the other hand, targets checkout conversion rates by streamlining the address entry process, particularly through phone number verification via OTP and instant address autofill. The primary difference lies in their target metrics: Essential Upsell aims to increase AOV, while Shiprocket aims to reduce cart abandonment and improve the overall checkout experience. Essential Upsell offers tools like "frequently bought together" suggestions, product bundles, and discount promotions, all geared towards influencing purchasing decisions. Shiprocket prioritizes speed and accuracy at checkout, removing friction for both new and returning customers. One app is about adding more to the cart, while the other is about making it easier to complete the purchase of what's already in the cart.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing revenue growth through upselling and cross-selling opportunities, Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is the clear choice. Its high rating and numerous reviews suggest it effectively helps merchants increase AOV by leveraging product recommendations and promotional offers. It would benefit stores with diverse product catalogs and a desire to influence customer purchasing decisions proactively.
However, for merchants struggling with high cart abandonment rates or seeking to improve the overall checkout experience by streamlining the address entry process, Shiprocket: Address Prefill offers a valuable solution. While it lacks ratings and reviews at this time, its focus on speed and accuracy at checkout addresses a common pain point for online shoppers. This app would be particularly useful for stores with frequent deliveries or those targeting mobile-first customers where address entry can be cumbersome. It is difficult to make a strong recommendation for an app with no ratings or reviews, though, especially when compared to an app with many positive reviews.
