Essential Upsell & Cross Sell and Wi Buy Now: Add to Cart Button, while sharing the 'Checkout' and 'Cart Customization' categories, cater to distinctly different needs of Shopify merchants in 2026. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell focuses on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) through comprehensive upsell and cross-sell strategies, encompassing frequently bought together products, related product recommendations, and post-purchase offers. It's designed for merchants looking to actively suggest more products to their customers, improving revenue with more sales per customer. Wi Buy Now: Add to Cart Button, on the other hand, concentrates on improving the user experience by optimizing the path to purchase with attractive and functional add-to-cart and buy-now buttons. The primary difference lies in their core functions: Essential Upsell & Cross Sell aims to suggest additional products, while Wi Buy Now focuses on making the initial purchase process smoother and more enticing. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell offers more features, covering product recommendations, bundling, and discounting. Wi Buy Now offers less features, primarily centered around button design and placement. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with boosting AOV and actively recommending related products, Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is the superior choice. Its comprehensive suite of features allows for a more strategic and impactful upselling and cross-selling experience. The higher number of reviews also suggests greater stability and a larger user base, implying more extensive testing and refinement.
Wi Buy Now: Add to Cart Button is ideal for merchants prioritizing a seamless and visually appealing shopping experience with optimized add-to-cart functionality. If the primary goal is to reduce friction in the initial purchase process and improve conversions through better button design, this app is the better fit. It focuses on a core, impactful element of the customer journey. However, merchants should be aware of the very low review count, which can indicate an immaturity of the product. If a merchant needs additional features, such as product recommendations or discounted items, Essential Upsell and Cross Sell is the recommended pick.
