Essential Upsell & Cross Sell vs X Away From Free Shippingfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Upsell & Cross Sell and X Away From Free Shipping occupy distinct niches within the Shopify app ecosystem, despite both operating in the Checkout and Cart Customization categories. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell focuses on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) through a comprehensive suite of upsell and cross-sell features. Our Verdict
For merchants aiming to significantly boost their AOV through a variety of upsell and cross-sell techniques, Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is the clear choice. Its comprehensive feature set, combined with a significantly higher rating and a large volume of positive reviews, indicates a superior product and user experience. It appears to have strong support.
X Away From Free Shipping may be suitable for merchants with a very specific need – to display a 'spend X more for free shipping' message. However, given its low rating and minimal review count, merchants should carefully evaluate its effectiveness and support before committing. It's likely that other apps provide similar free shipping bar functionalities, potentially with better features or support. It's hard to recommend X Away From Free Shipping without further investigation and comparison to similar niche apps.
Common Questions

Is it possible to use both apps together?

The description doesn't explicitly state it. It primarily focuses on discounts, bundles, and product recommendations as incentives. It is possible to configure discounts that effectively act as free shipping on certain order sizes.
What are the risks of choosing X Away From Free Shipping?
The primary risk is its low rating and minimal review count, suggesting potential issues with performance, support, or overall effectiveness. It's crucial to verify that it integrates seamlessly with your theme and provides the intended functionality before committing.
