ESTS Group & Bundle Product vs Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+for Shopify (2026)
ESTS Group & Bundle Product and Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ both aim to increase sales on Shopify stores through upsell and bundling strategies, but they approach this goal from different angles and offer distinct feature sets. ESTS Group & Bundle Product focuses primarily on creating flexible product options, including bundles and grouped products, offering a drag-and-drop setup and customizable displays. It appears to be targeted towards merchants who need granular control over how their products are presented and sold, allowing for customized bundles and grouped selections. In contrast, Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ offers a much broader suite of features centered around building trust and maximizing Average Order Value (AOV) through a wide array of upsell and cross-sell techniques. Squid differentiates itself through features like customer reviews, AI-powered product recommendations, trust badges, and various upsell strategies (volume discounts, Frequently Bought Together offers, cart upsells, post-purchase upsells), as well as email popups and survey tools. Given its existing reviews and high rating, it also appears to have proven itself amongst its target audience. While both apps share the 'Upsell and Bundles - Other' category, their core functionalities and value propositions are substantially different. ESTS is a product options customizer, while Squid is an AOV maximizer through social proof and diverse upsell techniques.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on offering highly customized product bundles and variations with fine-grained control, ESTS Group & Bundle Product may be a suitable starting point, assuming they are willing to beta-test an app with no current reviews and ratings. However, given the lack of social proof and its limited scope, it represents a higher risk. Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ is a much safer and potentially more effective choice for most Shopify merchants looking to boost their Average Order Value and build customer trust. Its wide range of features, coupled with positive reviews, make it a more compelling option for those seeking a comprehensive upsell and cross-sell solution.
Common Questions
Which app is better for creating complex product bundles?
ESTS Group & Bundle Product is specifically designed for creating custom product options, bundles, and grouped products, while Squid offers more general upsell and bundle features within a larger suite of tools. Therefore, ESTS may offer more granular control over bundle configurations.
Which app is better for a store with limited social proof?
Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ directly addresses this by enabling the display of customer reviews and trust badges. ESTS offers no such features, making Squid the better choice to establish credibility.
Which app is easier to set up?
ESTS Group & Bundle Product claims an 'Easy Drag-and-Drop Setup'. Squid does not explicitly state its setup process, so ESTS *might* be initially easier for simple bundle creations. However, the breadth of Squid's features likely involves a more involved initial setup process but with potentially greater longer-term reward.
Which app provides better customer engagement tools?
Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ offers a broader range of customer engagement tools, including email popups, surveys, birthday collectors, and custom fields, offering more ways to interact with and learn from customers. ESTS only offers customizable display options.
Which app focuses more on increasing Average Order Value?
Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ explicitly focuses on maximizing AOV through upsells, cross-sells, volume discounts, and AI product recommendations. While ESTS Group & Bundle Product can contribute to AOV through bundling, its primary focus is on product customization rather than direct sales optimization.
