ET Age Verification Popup 18+ vs Terms and Conditions Terms:Profor Shopify (2026)
Both ET Age Verification Popup 18+ and Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro are legal compliance apps with 5/5 ratings and 6 reviews in the Shopify app store as of 2026. However, they address different facets of legal compliance. ET Age Verification Popup 18+ focuses squarely on age verification, preventing underage access to the entire store or specific pages through a customizable Date of Birth (DOB) verification popup. Its strength lies in its direct and simple age restriction functionality, making it ideal for businesses selling age-restricted products. Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro, on the other hand, takes a broader approach to legal consent, encompassing Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policies, and even Age Verification, via customizable checkboxes or popups. Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro is suited to businesses requiring comprehensive legal consent collection. It stands out with its full support for express checkout options like Apple Pay and PayPal, a feature not explicitly mentioned for ET Age Verification. While both tout ease of use, ET Age Verification stresses its ease via pre-set templates and no coding needed. Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro emphasizes customization of colors and popup behavior. Ultimately, the choice depends on the specific compliance needs of the merchant. The shared legal Shopify category could lead merchants to misinterpret the apps' primary function.

Our Verdict
For merchants exclusively concerned with age verification and requiring a robust DOB confirmation to access all or parts of their site, ET Age Verification Popup 18+ is the more direct choice. Its strength is simplicity and focus. However, for merchants needing a broader solution that encompasses Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policies, and potentially age verification alongside express checkout compatibility, Terms and Conditions Terms:Pro is the better option. If a merchant needs both robust age verification and T&C management, they may even consider using both apps.
