ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods vs MIT Payment Hiderfor Shopify (2026)
ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods and MIT Payment Hider are both Shopify apps designed to give merchants greater control over the payment options presented to customers at checkout. ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods appears to be a well-established app with a strong reputation, boasting a perfect 5/5 rating based on 92 reviews. Its strength lies in its ease of use and its focus on providing merchants with a code-free solution to customize payment methods based on a variety of rules, including country, cart value, shipping method, and more. This positions it as a user-friendly tool for merchants who want to improve the checkout experience and conversion rates without requiring technical expertise. MIT Payment Hider, on the other hand, is a new and unproven app, currently holding a 0/5 rating with no reviews. While it shares similar functionality in terms of hiding, sorting, and renaming payment methods, it emphasizes customization based on conditions like customer tags, groups, and even the day of the week. This suggests a potentially more advanced level of customization, although the lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess its usability and effectiveness. Its key value proposition seems to be providing highly granular control over payment method visibility, even allowing for the addition of missing payment methods.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a proven and user-friendly solution to improve checkout conversions with readily available customization options, ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods is the clear choice. Its positive reviews and no-code approach make it ideal for businesses of all sizes. Its feature set is robust and covers the most common use cases.
However, for larger or more complex businesses with specific, niche requirements, such as hiding payment methods based on the day of the week, customer groups or adding missing payment methods, MIT Payment Hider *could* be a better fit. However, due to the complete lack of reviews, considerable caution is advised. Merchants considering it should proceed with thorough testing and carefully monitor its performance. Until user reviews validate its claims, it remains a high-risk option. It may suit developers with time to investigate and debug.
