Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants seeking to enhance their checkout experience by customizing payment options based on customer location, cart value, or other criteria, ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods is the clear choice. Its established positive reputation (5/5 rating, 92 reviews) and broad feature set make it suitable for a wide range of online stores looking to boost conversions.
Nexa ‑ Checkout T&C Checkbox is a niche product aimed specifically at Shopify Plus merchants needing a simple and effective way to implement a Terms and Conditions checkbox for GDPR compliance. While it offers GDPR-ready translations and customization, its lack of reviews and Shopify Plus exclusivity limit its appeal to a very specific segment of the market. If GDPR compliance and a T&C checkbox are your sole concerns, and you are a Shopify Plus merchant, then Nexa is worth considering. Otherwise, ETP provides more comprehensive value.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to require no code. However, Nexa's functionality is inherently simpler, making it arguably quicker to set up initially, assuming you only need a basic T&C checkbox. ETP, while also no-code, involves more complex rule creation for payment method customization.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, theoretically. They address different aspects of the checkout process. You could use ETP to customize payment options and Nexa to handle the T&C checkbox, assuming you are a Shopify Plus merchant.
Which app is more likely to impact conversion rates?
ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods is designed explicitly to improve conversion rates by tailoring the payment options presented to customers. Nexa primarily focuses on legal compliance, with any impact on conversion rates likely being indirect (e.g., building trust through T&C adherence).
Does Nexa ‑ Checkout T&C Checkbox work on non-Shopify Plus stores?
No, the description clearly states that it is designed exclusively for Shopify Plus, optimizing top-end e-commerce.
