ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods vs ShareCart ‑ Social Payfor Shopify (2026)
ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods and ShareCart ‑ Social Pay, while both listed under the "Payment options - Other" and "Cart customization" categories, address vastly different aspects of the Shopify checkout experience. ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods focuses on optimizing the standard checkout flow by allowing merchants to control which payment methods are displayed based on a variety of rules, such as customer location, cart value, or specific products purchased. Its strength lies in improving conversion rates by presenting only relevant payment options, reducing customer confusion and checkout friction. This app primarily targets established businesses seeking to fine-tune their existing checkout process. In contrast, ShareCart ‑ Social Pay introduces a novel payment approach by enabling customers to share their carts with others for payment. This caters to a more social and gifting-oriented shopping experience. Its strength is in providing a unique value proposition for customers who may need assistance with payment or who wish to leverage the gifting aspect of their products. ShareCart seeks to expand a store's customer base by potentially acquiring both the shopper and the payer as new customers. The target audience for ShareCart is likely businesses selling gift items or those seeking to tap into a collaborative or community-based shopping model. However, ShareCart is currently an unproven app with no user ratings or reviews.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking to optimize their existing checkout process and improve conversion rates by controlling payment method visibility based on specific criteria, ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods is the clear choice. Its strong rating and substantial number of reviews indicate a reliable and effective solution. Its focus on reducing friction in the typical checkout flow makes it valuable for businesses aiming for a seamless purchase experience.
ShareCart ‑ Social Pay, while offering a unique approach to social shopping, is currently an unproven entity. While its concept is intriguing, the lack of reviews and ratings makes it a riskier choice. It could be suitable for businesses specifically targeting gift purchases or looking to experiment with social commerce if they are willing to take on the risk associated with an untested app. However, until ShareCart accumulates positive reviews and demonstrates its reliability, ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods is the more sensible option for most Shopify merchants.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to offer easy setup. ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods boasts a 'no-code' approach, while ShareCart claims 'quick & easy integration.' Without user reviews for ShareCart, it's difficult to determine which is truly easier in practice. ETP's reviews suggest users find it easy to use.
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods is explicitly designed to improve conversion rates by presenting only the most relevant payment options to customers. ShareCart's impact on conversion rates is less direct and more reliant on the appeal of its social sharing and payment functionality. Thus, ETP is more directly geared towards increasing conversions.
Can ShareCart work with ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods?
Potentially, but it's unclear. ETP controls *which* payment methods are *displayed*. ShareCart introduces *who* pays. If ShareCart doesn't alter the standard checkout payment method selection process, then ETP rules could still apply to payments made *through* ShareCart. However, testing would be required to confirm compatibility.
Which app provides better analytics?
ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods doesn't explicitly mention analytics beyond the implications of improved conversions. ShareCart claims to offer 'powerful analytics' for tracking sales, orders, and shared carts. Therefore, if detailed analytics regarding cart sharing and social payment are important, ShareCart appears to offer more robust features, though this is unverified by user reviews.
Which app is more suitable for a new Shopify store?
While both could be used, ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods is generally a safer initial choice for a new store. Optimizing the standard checkout process is a fundamental step for any e-commerce business. ShareCart, while innovative, addresses a more niche need and its value is less certain without established customer data and store traffic.
