ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods vs TryNow: Try Before You Buyfor Shopify (2026)
ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods and TryNow: Try Before You Buy both enhance the customer's payment experience, but address fundamentally different needs. ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods focuses on optimizing the *selection* of payment options at checkout, offering merchants control over which payment gateways are displayed based on various rules (country, cart value, etc.). It aims to streamline the checkout process by reducing friction and improving conversion rates by showing only relevant payment methods. TryNow, on the other hand, centers around the *Try Before You Buy* business model, allowing customers to experience products at home before committing to a purchase. It seeks to increase conversion rates and lifetime value by providing a risk-free shopping experience. The target audiences for each app differ significantly. ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods caters to merchants who want to finely tune their checkout experience by tailoring payment options to specific customer segments or order characteristics. This is particularly useful for businesses with diverse customer bases or complex shipping/product rules. TryNow is ideal for merchants selling products where the "try before you buy" model is beneficial, typically in apparel, home goods, or other categories where customers value hands-on experience before making a purchase. While both apps aim to improve conversion rates, they do so through completely different approaches: one by optimizing the checkout flow, the other by fundamentally changing the purchasing model.
