ETP Sort Hide Shipping Rates vs Shipping Rates Rules & Zonesfor Shopify (2026)
ETP Sort Hide Shipping Rates and Shipping Rates Rules & Zones both address shipping management on Shopify, but cater to different needs. ETP focuses on simplifying the customer checkout experience by allowing merchants to hide, sort, and rename existing shipping methods. Its core strength lies in streamlining options for customers, potentially leading to higher conversion rates. It's ideal for merchants who want to present a cleaner, more branded shipping selection without fundamentally altering rate calculations. Shipping Rates Rules & Zones, on the other hand, targets merchants with complex shipping requirements and a need for highly granular control over shipping rates. It allows for the creation of custom shipping zones based on postal codes, cities, or regions, and offers rate adjustments based on various product attributes, time of day, and other factors. Its power resides in providing accurate shipping costs, especially for stores serving diverse or remote areas. However, it crucially requires Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS) to function properly.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with simplifying the checkout experience and presenting a cleaner selection of pre-existing shipping options, ETP Sort Hide Shipping Rates is the better choice. It offers a straightforward solution for organizing and branding shipping choices. However, if a merchant needs granular control over shipping rates, particularly based on location, product characteristics, or time, Shipping Rates Rules & Zones is the more powerful, albeit more complex, option. The mandatory requirement for Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS) should be a key consideration before choosing Shipping Rates Rules & Zones.
