Etsy Reviews ‑ FSL vs ReviewsYard — Product Reviewsfor Shopify (2026)
Etsy Reviews ‑ FSL and ReviewsYard — Product Reviews both aim to enhance a Shopify store's credibility through reviews, but they tackle the problem from vastly different angles. Etsy Reviews ‑ FSL focuses on leveraging existing social proof from an Etsy store by importing and displaying Etsy reviews on the Shopify storefront. This app targets merchants who already have a strong presence and positive reviews on Etsy and wish to utilize that reputation on their Shopify site. ReviewsYard — Product Reviews, conversely, concentrates on generating new reviews directly from Shopify customers. It automates the process of requesting reviews after purchase and offers incentives, appealing to merchants looking to build a review base from scratch or significantly augment their existing one. The primary difference lies in the source of the reviews. Etsy Reviews ‑ FSL doesn't collect reviews directly from Shopify customers; it's exclusively for importing Etsy reviews. ReviewsYard — Product Reviews, on the other hand, is geared towards collecting reviews from Shopify customers and offers features such as automated review requests and incentive programs. A key differentiator is UGC import, ReviewsYard mentioning it, while Etsy Reviews - FSL doesn't. The choice between the two depends heavily on the merchant's current review landscape and business strategy. The difference in the number of reviews provides context. While both apps share a 5/5 rating, ReviewsYard's significantly higher number of reviews (197 vs. 14) suggests a broader user base and potentially more extensive real-world testing. This doesn't inherently make it superior, but it indicates more users have found it valuable enough to leave a review.

Our Verdict
For merchants with a strong Etsy presence and positive reviews, Etsy Reviews ‑ FSL is the clear choice. It allows them to quickly and easily showcase their existing reputation on their Shopify store. The focus on beautiful, customizable widgets and CDN delivery is a bonus. However, merchants without a substantial Etsy presence, or those looking to build a review base specifically for their Shopify store, should opt for ReviewsYard — Product Reviews. Its automated review request system, incentive options, and UGC import feature are essential for building social proof directly from their Shopify customers.
In summary, Etsy Reviews ‑ FSL is for leveraging existing assets, while ReviewsYard — Product Reviews is for building new ones. If a merchant is exclusively focused on Shopify and doesn't utilize Etsy at all, ReviewsYard — Product Reviews is the only viable option.
