EUVAT.app – B2B Reverse Tax vs Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generatorfor Shopify (2026)
EUVAT.app – B2B Reverse Tax and Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator, while both listed in the Shopify categories of Finances and Taxes, cater to distinct needs. EUVAT.app focuses specifically on automating VAT handling for B2B transactions within the European Union. Its key strengths lie in VIES validation, reverse charge application, net-from-gross calculations, and support for both EU and non-EU sellers, even with OSS configurations. The app also boasts persistent customer VAT status and automated tax exemption on future orders. Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator, on the other hand, is designed for creating professional PDF invoices, likely for a wider audience beyond just B2B and EU-specific scenarios. The primary difference lies in their functionality. EUVAT.app is all about VAT compliance for B2B sales in the EU, whereas Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator concentrates on invoice generation. EUVAT.app offers a more specialized set of features for EU VAT handling. While Oxilayer's functionality is not described in detail, we can infer it offers PDF creation for invoices. While both apps aim to streamline financial tasks, they address entirely different aspects of a merchant's financial workflow. Furthermore, EUVAT.app's checkout VAT collection feature is limited to Shopify Plus users only. The vast difference in the number of reviews (3 vs 105) and the rating (3.6/5 vs 5/5) suggests a significant difference in user satisfaction and potentially the stability and maturity of the apps. While Oxilayer's functionality is not completely clear, its user ratings do indicate it could be more robust or user-friendly than EUVAT.app.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants selling B2B within the EU, especially those needing automated VAT compliance, EUVAT.app is the more relevant choice, provided they can address the lower ratings. However, the low number of reviews and lower rating compared to Oxilayer should be investigated further before committing. If your primary need is simply generating professional PDF invoices without specific regard to EU B2B VAT regulations, Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator is likely the superior choice, based on the available rating and review data.
Shopify Plus merchants seeking to collect and validate VAT at checkout MUST use EUVAT.app, given that Oxilayer has no known equivalent functionality. Ultimately, the best app depends entirely on the specific needs of the merchant: VAT compliance or invoice generation.
