Our Verdict
MP ‑ Store Migration & Import is the stronger general choice for most merchants looking to migrate data or import store information, due to its significantly higher rating and larger number of positive reviews. The higher rating suggests better reliability, functionality, and user experience. ExIm ‑ Export Import pages is potentially more suitable for theme developers specifically needing to rapidly transfer theme settings and pre-set configurations between demo and live stores, but the lower rating should prompt careful consideration and possibly trying out a free trial (if available) before committing. If ratings are accurate, the larger review sample of MP gives a much higher confidence in its performance.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Both apps claim ease of use. ExIm has a stated "One Click" method. However, the rating of MP suggests that a higher volume of users find it easy to use. It is impossible to know for sure without user trials.
Which app is best for theme developers?
ExIm seems specifically geared towards theme developers, particularly for creating pre-set configurations and moving theme settings between demo and customer stores. While MP may also support theme migration as part of the overall store migration process, ExIm's explicit focus makes it potentially more convenient for this specific task, assuming its functionality delivers on its promises despite the lower rating.
Which app is more reliable?
Based solely on the available data, MP appears to be more reliable. Its 5/5 rating and the significantly higher number of reviews (109 vs. 10) strongly suggest a higher level of user satisfaction and fewer reported issues.
What if I only need to transfer a few pages?
Either app *could* be suitable. However, if the data is accurate, the perfect rating with far more reviews for MP makes it the safer option. MP likely addresses individual page migrations effectively, so go with MP.
