EXPO ‑ Extra Product Options vs SC Product Optionsfor Shopify (2026)
EXPO ‑ Extra Product Options and SC Product Options both aim to provide Shopify merchants with robust solutions for offering customizable products through extra product options. While both apps offer features like unlimited options, conditional logic, and various input types (text boxes, file uploads, etc.), they appear to target slightly different merchant segments. EXPO emphasizes global sales by providing automatic price and fee conversions to local currencies and boasting compatibility with translation apps, suggesting a focus on international merchants. SC Product Options positions itself more broadly as an 'ultimate variant option app' highlighting increased AOV and reduced returns, likely appealing to merchants prioritizing conversion rate optimization and customer satisfaction. One key difference lies in social proof. SC Product Options has significantly more reviews (1238) than EXPO (50), suggesting broader adoption and a longer track record. EXPO, however, boasts a slightly higher average rating (4.9/5 versus 4.7/5). Merchants should weigh the importance of higher ratings against a larger user base when making their decision. Features like automatic price conversion in EXPO could be extremely valuable for international sellers, while the focus on upselling and conversion by SC Product Options would better serve domestically focused stores. Both offer similar core functionality but appear to prioritize different aspects of customization.

Our Verdict
For merchants heavily focused on international sales and requiring automatic price conversions and translation compatibility, EXPO ‑ Extra Product Options seems like the stronger choice. Its feature set specifically addresses the challenges of selling globally, despite having fewer reviews. However, for businesses primarily operating within a single currency and focused on maximizing conversion rates and reducing returns, SC Product Options is likely the better option. Its high review count and emphasis on upselling and customer retention indicate a more mature and broadly applicable solution.
If a merchant is highly risk-averse and values the feedback of a large user base, SC Product Options is a safer bet due to the high review count. Conversely, if the automatic currency conversion feature is essential, EXPO is the clear winner, assuming its lower review count isn't a major deterrent. Ultimately, the best choice depends on the specific priorities and needs of the individual Shopify merchant in 2026.
