Exporto ‑ Products data export vs Selling Pointfor Shopify (2026)
Exporto ‑ Products data export and Selling Point, while both sharing the "Selling online" category on Shopify, serve distinctly different purposes and target different merchant needs. Exporto is designed for merchants seeking to streamline product data export for various marketing and sales channels, specifically catering to those who need live XML feeds for platforms like Facebook, Google, and others. It offers customizable export options, filtering, and the ability to modify product titles and include metafields. Selling Point, on the other hand, addresses the challenge of migrating gift cards and store credits from other platforms to Shopify. Its focus is on simplifying the often complex process of transferring existing balances and enabling merchants to issue new virtual gift cards in bulk. The core difference lies in their functionality. Exporto enhances product visibility and management across multiple sales channels, optimizing advertising and product discovery. Selling Point aims to improve customer retention and acquisition through efficient gift card and store credit management. The choice between the two depends entirely on a merchant's immediate needs: Exporto for marketing optimization and Selling Point for customer loyalty and data migration. While both apps have 5-star ratings, Selling Point has significantly more reviews, suggesting broader usage or a longer market presence.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with expanding their reach across various sales and marketing platforms like Google Shopping, Facebook, and other price comparison sites, Exporto ‑ Products data export is the more suitable choice. Its ability to create customized XML feeds and its filtering capabilities offer significant control over product data presentation.
On the other hand, Selling Point is the ideal solution for merchants transitioning from another e-commerce platform or POS system and needing to migrate existing gift card and store credit balances to Shopify. It's also valuable for merchants who want to leverage gift cards as a marketing tool. If the primary goal is to streamline product feed management, Exporto is superior; if the focus is on customer loyalty and data migration related to gift cards, Selling Point is the clear winner.
