Express Checkout vs Kaching AI Slide Cart Drawerfor Shopify (2026)
Express Checkout and Kaching AI Slide Cart Drawer both aim to improve the Shopify checkout experience, but they tackle different aspects. Express Checkout focuses on streamlining the payment selection process *within* the checkout flow itself. It caters primarily to merchants in South Africa who want to customize the presentation of their payment options by renaming, reordering, or hiding them. Its strength lies in simplifying the payment selection process to reduce friction. Kaching AI Slide Cart Drawer, on the other hand, concentrates on optimizing the *cart* experience before the actual checkout. It targets merchants looking to increase their Average Order Value (AOV) through features like upsells, urgency timers, and free shipping bars. It excels at pre-checkout cart optimization. While both apps have perfect ratings, Kaching AI Slide Cart Drawer has significantly more reviews (175) compared to Express Checkout (7), suggesting broader adoption and potentially more extensive real-world testing. The core difference lies in their approach: Express Checkout enhances the payment selection stage, while Kaching works on boosting AOV *prior* to that stage using a customizable cart drawer. Express Checkout is regionally focused, whereas Kaching is broadly applicable.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants specifically in South Africa facing complexity in payment options and wanting to simplify the checkout payment selection, Express Checkout is the better choice. It directly addresses the payment method clutter. However, for merchants globally who are primarily focused on boosting AOV through strategic upsells and incentives *before* the checkout process even begins, Kaching AI Slide Cart Drawer is the superior option. The large number of reviews also lends it more credibility and proven effectiveness in achieving its stated goals. While Express Checkout may be highly effective in its specific use case, Kaching AI Slide Cart Drawer offers a broader appeal and addresses a more universal e-commerce challenge.
