Extend Post‑Purchase Solutions vs ILS: Indian Logistics Servicesfor Shopify (2026)
Extend Post‑Purchase Solutions and ILS: Indian Logistics Services, while both falling under the 'Returns and warranty' category on Shopify, address significantly different needs. Extend appears to focus on post-purchase warranty and extended warranty solutions. This positions it as a tool to increase customer loyalty and revenue through value-added protection plans. ILS, on the other hand, is explicitly geared towards Indian merchants who need to manage logistics operations within India. Its key strength lies in integrating with numerous popular Indian logistics providers, streamlining shipping and return processes. ILS provides comprehensive features such as automated AWB generation, invoice printing, return request management, and real-time order tracking, designed to significantly improve logistical efficiency. Extend Post-Purchase Solutions likely offers features focusing on warranty management, claims processing, and possibly product protection plan sales. The substantial difference in reviews (68 for ILS versus 20 for Extend) suggests ILS has wider adoption, which may reflect a clearer focus and stronger market fit for its specific logistics niche, particularly within the Indian e-commerce landscape.

Our Verdict
The choice between Extend Post‑Purchase Solutions and ILS: Indian Logistics Services depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant is looking to offer extended warranties or product protection plans to boost revenue and customer satisfaction, Extend is likely the better choice. However, if the merchant is based in India and needs a robust solution for managing shipping and returns using local logistics providers, ILS is the clear winner.
While ILS has a higher rating and more reviews, this reflects its suitability for a distinct target market. A merchant outside of India or not focused on post-purchase warranties would find ILS irrelevant, and vice-versa. Thus, the recommendation hinges on the merchant's geographical location and business model. In this case, they don't compete directly, despite being in the same category. A merchant *could* use both if they sell warranties AND need Indian logistics solutions.
