Our Verdict
The choice between Extendons Animated Login and OTP Login with Phone hinges on a merchant's priorities. If brand aesthetics and a visually engaging login experience are paramount, and the merchant believes this leads to increased engagement and reduced bounce rate, Animated Login is the better choice. However, for merchants prioritizing security, streamlined access, and a modern, password-less login experience, OTP Login with Phone is the clear winner. Given the increased focus on online security and the potential for password fatigue, OTP Login's emphasis on OTP-based authentication provides a stronger long-term value proposition for most Shopify stores in 2026.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, Extendons Animated Login appears to offer a more straightforward setup focused on visual customization. OTP Login with Phone requires configuring OTP settings and potentially integrating with SMS providers, adding complexity but allowing a higher degree of customization.
Which app is better for mobile users?
OTP Login with Phone likely offers a better mobile experience. Entering a one-time code is typically faster and easier on mobile devices compared to typing in a password, making it a more user-friendly option for mobile shoppers.
Which app better enhances security?
OTP Login with Phone provides a much higher level of security than Extendons Animated Login. OTP authentication significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access compared to traditional password-based logins.
Which app provides a better user experience overall?
This depends on the user and the specific implementation. Animated Login provides a 'wow' factor for those who value aesthetics, but for speed and security, OTP Login wins. In 2026, users are likely more concerned about security over unnecessary animations during their login.
Can both apps be used together?
While technically possible, using both apps simultaneously is likely redundant and potentially confusing for customers. One provides animated login forms, the other a completely different login flow. They are not complementary.
