Our Verdict
For merchants just starting out with digital products and primarily concerned with managing course materials and orders, Extendons Digital Downloads could be a simpler and possibly more cost-effective starting point. Its emphasis on order management and basic analytics offers core functionality. However, the single review raises questions about its long-term reliability and support.
For merchants serious about building a brand around their digital products, protecting their assets, and maximizing revenue through upselling, Flash Digital Downloads is likely the better choice. Its focus on branding, security features like watermarking, and automated email marketing make it a more robust and professional solution. The higher number of reviews suggests a more mature product and potentially better support.
