Our Verdict
The choice between EZ Importer and ProductUpload.ai hinges on the specific data import needs of the Shopify merchant. If the primary goal is to migrate or bulk import **order data** from existing systems or other Shopify stores, EZ Importer, with its flexible data mapping system, is the recommended solution. Its strength lies in precisely managing and transferring order details, including customer information, transactions, and taxes.
However, if the priority is to populate a store with **product listings** from various online sources, especially those requiring automatic description generation and translation, then ProductUpload.ai Copy Products is the better choice. The AI-powered approach significantly reduces the manual effort involved in copying product details and crafting compelling descriptions. Its edge is in speed and automation for new product onboarding.
Common Questions
Can EZ Importer ‑ Order Importer import product data?
EZ Importer primarily focuses on importing *order* data. While it can import product inventory levels in conjunction with orders, it is not designed for comprehensive product data migration like descriptions, images, and variants.
Does ProductUpload.ai Copy Products work with all websites?
ProductUpload.ai boasts compatibility with millions of websites, claiming direct API integrations with major platforms and AI importers for others. However, the performance and accuracy may vary depending on the website's structure and anti-scraping measures.
Which app is better for migrating from another Shopify store?
EZ Importer - Order Importer specifically mentions having built-in templates to migrate from another Shopify store, making it the more suitable choice for transferring order history between Shopify instances. ProductUpload.ai might handle product listings, but not order data.
Is ProductUpload.ai really 'smarter' than other product importers?
ProductUpload.ai makes this claim, highlighting its use of AI. However, 'smarter' is subjective. Its value depends on the effectiveness of its AI in generating accurate and compelling product descriptions for your specific product types. User reviews would provide practical insight.
Which app is better if I need to import orders from Amazon FBA?
Neither app explicitly mentions direct Amazon FBA integration. However, if you can extract your Amazon FBA order data into a CSV file, EZ Importer could then be used to import that data, using its data mapping features to match the FBA CSV columns with Shopify's order fields. ProductUpload.ai is not relevant for importing orders, only product data.
