EZ Importer ‑ Order Importer vs Store Migrationfor Shopify (2026)
EZ Importer - Order Importer and Store Migration both facilitate data import into Shopify, but cater to different needs and use cases. EZ Importer focuses specifically on *order* imports (and draft orders) offering a flexible data mapping system ideal for merchants needing granular control over how data from CSV files is structured and transferred. Its strength lies in its customizability and ability to handle complex order data, including line items, customer details, transactions, taxes, and importantly, Order Metafields. It also offers a credit-based system for deleting and re-importing data, suggesting a focus on accuracy and iterative improvement. Store Migration, on the other hand, aims for broader data migration encompassing products and customers from a variety of platforms like Square, WooCommerce, and Etsy. Its main advantage is direct integration with these source platforms, allowing automatic imports where supported. While it also supports CSV uploads, it might require more manual adjustments after the import, as indicated by the note about potential data compatibility issues. This app seems targeted at merchants migrating away from established platforms into Shopify, prioritizing ease of transfer over nuanced data control, and who might not necessarily require to import past order data.

Our Verdict
For merchants who need precise control over order data import, including order history, custom order fields (metafields), and complex order structures, EZ Importer is the clear choice. Its flexible data mapper and error-handling system allow for iterative refinement of imported data. This is particularly valuable for businesses migrating from custom platforms or those requiring granular reporting based on historical order data.
Store Migration is best suited for merchants who are primarily concerned with quickly migrating their product and customer data from a supported platform to Shopify. Its direct integrations and simpler interface make it a good option for less technically inclined users who are willing to accept the possibility of needing to manually adjust data after the import. However, if order data is crucial or needs extensive customization, EZ Importer offers superior capabilities.
